Each Owl device is handcrafted using one of the most precise acrylic fabrication techniques available. Researchers may at first view Owl devices as “glued” together when in fact we use a special technique which bonds the joint in such a way that if the unit were to ever be damaged the sheet acrylic would break or shatter before the joint.
Owl’s engineer, Greg Fox, demonstrates the strength of an Owl device. Weighing in at approximately 250 lbs, Greg stands on the most popular device, an Owl B2. After several pictures, Greg was determined to break the device.
Finally, after standing on the center with one foot, the lid broke. All the bonded joints were still in excellent shape.
